Chapter 15

Proverbs 15 (Susan)

"The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch upon the evil and the good." Proverbs 15:3

Then there sat upon a white horse, He that was strong and mighty, He that was pure and all the world mourned His coming. He rides in swiftness to attain the glory of the Father, He that overcomes evil with good, He that is the Word. And He will judge them according to their deeds. He will not hold back that which is promised, that which is to come. His Name is Jesus, Son of God.

How is it that we read words such as these and never take heed of their meaning? Words like these cause us to realize that God is truth and that these things will happen. The eyes of the Lord watches every thing we do - good and bad and sometimes we don’t think twice about it. We believe He is there and never leaves us, yet we do those things we shouldn’t. So, in other words, He is standing right there beside you, watching you, while you do that thing He hates - and keeping an account.

Hosea 7:2 says, But they do not consider and say to their minds and hearts that I [earnestly] remember all their wickedness. Now their own doings surround and entangle them; they are before My face.

He remembers all our wickedness?

Job 34:21 says, For [God's] eyes are upon the ways of a man, and He sees all his steps. And in Job 31:4 Does not [God] see my ways and count all my steps?

He counts our steps? He numbers our hair - and knows when them fall?

Proverbs 5:21 says, For the ways of man are directly before the eyes of the Lord, and He [Who would have us live soberly, chastely, and godly] carefully weighs all man's goings.

He watches where we go?

Jeremiah 16:17 For My eyes are on all their ways; they are not hidden from My face, neither is their iniquity concealed from My eyes.

He watches what we do - everything?

2 Chronicles 16:9 says, For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth to show Himself strong in behalf of those whose hearts are blameless toward Him.

Hebrews 4:13 says, And not a creature exists that is concealed from His sight, but all things are open and exposed, naked and defenseless to the eyes of Him with Whom we have to do.

Nothing is concealed from His sight, nothing. He is everywhere watching everything all the time. And we just cant get away with anything… nothing at all. No matter how hard we try to keep a thing concealed He sees it all and will reveal it. Each one of these verses spread across the Bible lets us know… He is watching everything.

But, He is also watching over us to guide us and keep us safe. He also leads us in paths of righteousness for His sake. He is our best friend if we will let him. He is our fortress and stronghold in times of trouble where we can rush into, and is that ‘secret place’ of Psalms 91. Where else can we go when the storms of life seem to over take us. I love phrase in the song that says something like… sometimes He calms the storm and other times He calms His child. Either way, we’re calm - in perfect peace.

He forgives us for all those iniquities He sees, He remembers them no more and is quick to forgive when we confess, after all He knows anyway, He was watching. Yes, His eye is on us in everything we do and thank you Father that it is. People may say, where is your God, you cant see Him or touch Him - but sometime we forget that - because He touches us, we see Him everywhere. He is an ever present help.

Thank you Lord that Your eye is on us, that You are there when we call and You will never leave us. You lift our head and wipe our tears and strengthen us so we can get back out there stronger than before. Thanks for holding my hand.
