Proverbs 3 (Kim)
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9
“Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.” Isaiah 46:9-10
“If only they were wise and would understand this and discern what their end will be!” Deuteronomy 32:29
Having always read Proverbs in verses it was a little strange to me to take in a chapter view, but WOW! How enlightening! There is amazing richness in each verse, but taken as a whole, this chapter really shows WHY God wants us to know and follow His Word.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
Remembering God’s Law, keeping it in the forefront of your mind and then letting your heart keep it (an act of will) will bring about living it out in your daily life (Proverbs 23:7), which in turn will bring about God’s will towards you, which is as follows: length of days, long life, peace, favor and high esteem in the sight of God and man, health, refreshment, plenty, overflow, His delight in you, happiness, riches, honor, wisdom, understanding, a tree of life, life to your soul, grace, safety, sweet sleep, protection, blessing on your home, glory!
Who doesn’t want all that? Isn’t it wonderful that our Father wants it for us as well? Isn’t it awesome that He loves us so much that He shows us the way to receive it?
Know and do His Word! Even if it doesn’t make “sense” to your fleshly mind, trust God’s wisdom… after all, He is God! (and we are not!)
